The "att" gateway machines have been having trouble for the past week.
The problems are load related and mostly affected traffic between AT&T
and the Internet, although they also affected mail and Netnews traffic
going through att.  We understand the problems and have fixes for each
of them.  Right now mail is working properly but things are very slow
because of the backlog in /usr/spool/uucp on att.  We will be working
on clearing things out over the weekend.  We have been working very
hard this week to find and fix the problems.

We apologize for the disruption and are working to ensure that it won't
happen again.  Thank you for your patience.
