MUD stands for Multi-User Dungeon, developed at CMU. I do think there is a need for a new news group here, but you have confined it to narrowly. There should be a news group for discussing ALL multi-user games (most likely adventure oriented, but not exclusive.) Limiting the group to one particular game implementation is silly. Perhaps rec.games.multi-user would be a better name. Also, there is no such thing as MUD, TinyMUD was the game developed at CMU by James Aspnes and others.
