The recurring acrimonious exchanges between Indians and Pakistanis on soc.culture.indian probably warrant the creation of a new newsgroup. My opinion is that such exchanges are related to subcontinental politics and have little or nothing to do with the the culture(s) of the Indian subcontinent. Therefore, I would personally prefer the creation of talk.politics.south-asia (a la talk.politics.mideast) and not soc.culture.pakistan(i).
