This month's "Atlantic Monthly" claims: After two decades in which the number of young women exceeded that of young men, the situation has been sharply reversed: there are currently 108 men aged 20-29 for every 100 women aged 18-27. (Demographers define the age cohorts differently because men on the average marry women who are about two years younger than themselves.)
