I'm so glad to hear that you and many other readers appreciate the effort.
It makes it all worthwhile.

Actually I neither type nor scan in the articles.  They are prepared and
submitted to internal non-USENET bulletin boards.  I download them,
edit them (change all upper-case to something reasonable, using software
supplied by Larry Wall), clean them up, and then post them.
