Maybe it's just me but async_main seems to be broke.  I tried to download
some files from GEnie in the unix forum and the umodem download would hang
pretty much every time after some unspecified number of receptions.
I reinstalled async_main.OLD and the problem went away.  Thanks to the
efforts of the poster of the checksums of all the individual files I was
able to verify that my async_main 'sum'ed the same after 'pack'ing.
