My buddy Jeff Drayfunkel and I found the album in this record store in Princeton and we really liked the cover. Look for it if you can. Anyway, we noticed that there was no song entitled "Fate for Breakfast", and it's such a great title, so we wrote it ourselves: Fate for Breakfast (Kaplan & Drayfunkel) I'm missing a tooth, I haven't much hair Paul was a wedding cake, I an eclair I tried to write songs, Paul found them inane I drank oragnge juice while he drank champaine Since the Central Park gig we've become estranged Now I'm just the guy who arranged. I never found Emily, my skies are still cloudy And now I'm left eating the dubious brownie Doubt for Dessert My idiot hair and my scrawny bare chest Drive them all wild in West Budapest I once was a rock and a rock feels no pain But now Paul has left, my career's down the drain Although I can sing, I'm a talentless fellow Thus, all of my songs are by Michael Sembello I have 68 albums, every one sucks Now I dine with condiment ducks I used to wake up in the morning with Kellogg's Cornflakes in my bowl But now I'm eating destiny - My life's a soggy buttered roll Yes... I'm eating Fate for Breakfast ************** What do you think, kids?
