 We (the administrative side of the Univ of Illinois) are just starting the
 process of setting up production DB2 systems. We are NOT going to be running
 batch jobs as BMP's. This means we will not be able to take advantage of IMS'
 checkpoint/restart capability. Does anyone know of a way to accomplish restart
 within a job step? Is there a way to use the DB2 logfiles? For the short term,
 we're doing an image copy before every update job and single-threading the
 jobs; this way, we can at least back off and rerun.

 We'd be happy to hear about vendor offerings, home-written programs, rumors of
 the above, anything.

 I'll be happy to summarize the results and post the summary to the list.
