Great stuff. The synthetic voice was reading poetry -- the overall effect was hysterically funny (intentionally, I'm sure). This was paired with a piece by Richard Trythall called "Ommagio a Jerry Lee Lewis", which uses "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" as its source material. Smae idea, but a low-tech implemetation with filters, variable speed tape recorders, and a lot of editing. I think those are still in print; they're a great way to clear out the cobwebs in the cranium (and they really freak people out when you listen to them in the car with the windows down!). Oh yeah, and there's another one from Dodge called (I think) "(working title deleted)", which uses an old recording of Caruso singing "Vesti la giubba" (pardon my Italian spelling) as source. I haven't heard this one, but I'd bet it's just as bizarre and probably even better. --- Joe M.
