I have set up TAG-BBS on my system. My problem is that I want to configure my SupraModem 2400 to AutoAnswer after a specific number of rings. In the config file Tag_System, There is a line called "OPEN:" in which you insert a setup string for the modem. The obvious thing to do is to insert "S0=#" where # is number of rings, into this string. It doesn't work. I found that this is because a line below this, called "ANSWER:" contains the modem command "ATA", telling the modem to answer IMMEDIATELY. How can I change this? I have tried putting a "dummy" in the ANSWER: field, such as 0, but the calling system never gets through. On a different note, by default TAG-bbs appears to assume that your modem has a maximum baud of 1200. Putting the command "S23=31" (which sets the modem to 2400 by default) in the OPEN: field does not change this. Again, this is because the line immediately beneath OPEN: is "RESET:", which by default contains "ATH". I found that changing this to "ATHS23=31" will override this, since a reset is asserted by tag-bbs everytime it closes communication. This does in fact set the modem to 2400 by default, but I'm not sure if this is proper. Are there any other tag-bbs users out there, who may help? Thanks in advance.... GRAHAM@IUCF.BITNET
