The February 1990 issue of College & Research Libraries News (ACRL) Volume
  51, Number 2, has an article by WILLIAM A. BRITTEN (Automation
  Librarian, University of Tennessee, Knoxville) on BITNET.
Article, on pages 103 -- 107, is titled "BITNET and the Internet:
  Scholary networks for librarians."
Article gives background on both networks, comparing and contrasting
  their features.
Also included is a "Networkography" which identifies many of the
  available lists (including NOTIS-L) and useful files.
