For me it is like the kennedy assassination of the previous generation. It is sad that many projects were delayed because of challenger, but they will eventually be sent out. The problem I have with NASA now is that they are heavily dependent on manned missions. We have learned so much from unmanned missions at a fraction of the cost. Reduce the manned missions to the goal of permanent stations (in orbit or on the moon). Satellites should be sent up by rocket not the Shuttle. Also the shuttle itself is not what is really needed. If I remember the SHuttle was to be a part of a grander delivery system. But because of budget cutbacks and changes, the Shuttle was THE program. NASA needs changes far greater than after Challenger.
