Adobe's Transcript documentation actually recommends setting variables to be empty strings, so I had to make all the variables check for that. It is of course one of the many patches that we have in the Rutgers distribution of cap. There are also some other patches to transcript and dvi2ps/dvitps compatability for those who are interested. The distribution is available via anonymous ftp from rutgers.edu (128.6.21.9 ; 128.6.4.7) and is: ~ftp/src/ru-cap.tar.Z. By the way, it will be updated to include some recently posted patches later tonight. Rakesh Patel.
