You better believe it! I rebuilt the kernel with a larger cache just for the purpose, too. Perl has a horrific latency on AT386 UNIX boxes in general, which is the biggest drawback to using it as a common tool here. Keeping it loaded works wonders! I strongly recommend setting the sticky bit for all Perl lovers on UNIX/386 platforms.
