It is rated at 20 pages per minute and up to 60,000 pages per month, has a resolution of 480 dots per inch, and supports PostScript. Nissho claims to have the fastest PostScript controller in the industry. Duplex printing capability is supposed to be available as a field upgrade in late 1990. Does anyone have first- hand experience with this printer? We would also welcome leads on other high-volume printers. We are already aware of the QMS/Imagen product line. We need to support a print volume of around 30,000 pages per month, including a mixture of typesetting, graphics, and line printer emulation. We want PostScript support (preferably the real Adobe interpreter, but we are willing to consider emulators). We would prefer that duplex printing capability be available as an option. We need a reliable and reasonably fast interface to an IBM mainframe. Our experience suggests that this means either 3270 printer emulation or a Centronix interface (we have used 3270 to Centronix protocal converters very successfully on other printers).
