Brown No guarantees, but, my guess would be that your drive does not have a resistor pack to terminate the data lines. Most (if not all) drives have a socket for the termination resistor pack. It should only be installed on LAST drive. Most likely, your 225 had the resistor pack installed and all was fine. When you installed the second drive the resistor pack was still there (in the original drive). Now that you have removed the 225, the resistor pack is gone which leaves the data line un-terminated. This can cause some very erratic behavior sometimes. Moral of the story: check to see if you have a resistor pack installed on the drive. If not, you should see a empty socket near the 50 pin cable. If you don't have it, get one and install it. Bob Bailey
