Several states have had their supreme courts determine that such "shrink
wrap licensing agreements" are illegal.  Once you buy it, it's yours, and no
one has the right to tell you after you bought it that your rights are
restricted.

I don't have the game, so I can't look, but does the manual use the word
"non-transferable"?  That might be what was originally meant...
