Message-ID: <22146@uflorida.cis.ufl.EDU> Date: 7 Feb 90 12:58:29 GMT Sender: news@uflorida.cis.ufl.EDU Reply-To: rmy@beach.cis.ufl.edu () Distribution: usa Organization: UF CIS Department Lines: 28 Being a college student, and the owner of an A1000, I was wondering if it is possible to trade in my A1000 in conjunction with the educational prices. The question is, if I use the educ. prices, what do I do with my A1000 ?? Obviously, the current trade-in policy, $1000 off list price, is NOT to be expected :-). On the other hand, I certainly think the A1000 is worth more than the $140 it comes out to be (For $1139 I get the A2000 + keep my A1000 or for $999 I get the A2000 + no A1000). The value of the A1000 falls even more if one compares the purchase of the A2000 bundle. Under these circumstances, would it be simply better to sell the A1000 (say, for around $350) and take the educational offer. Or, if Commodore was to offer $350 off educational prices with A1000 trade-in :-). Seems like the latter step will help phase out the A1000 - if that is what Commodore's intentions are. (personally, I would rather trade it in - it seems like retirement time for the trusty A1000). Please no flames such as aren't the current deals good enough, isn't C= being generous... . All that is granted. However, the above is a issue for those in this particular situation ... is it a question of trade/buy vs sell/buy. Any others in the same situation ?? Can/will Commodore consider this situation or is it a question of selling the A1000. Regards Yaseen
