	I have seen quite a few messages concerning the possible deletion of
this newsgroup.  I believe the cause of all this is merely the misinterpreta-

	Reading between the lines, I see a user who is experiencing the com-
plete lack of support from Atari and most other commercial outfits for the
8-bit line.  So Mr. Current makes a safe (although probably incorrect) assump-
tion that the 8-bit Atari-related newsgroup will go the same route as ANALOG
and ANTIC.  Frankly, I see no justification for this, since the newsgroup gets
a fairly steady, albeit low, flow of messages.  I've seen other newsgroups with
a much broader appeal receive little or no messages in weeks and/or months at a
time.  INFO-ATARI8 (comp.sys.atari.8-bit) can boast of at least one message
every two or three days.  Also note that there have never been any messages
from any "official" source stating the demise of this newsgroup; a quick
perusal of news.admin shows no reference to the removal of this newsgroup.
If/when that occurs, THEN we should start making some noise.
