I haven't found any "gotchas" with QEMM.  I've run Ventura 1.1, 2.0; Lotus
2.0,2.01; various other business software accessing expanded mem without 
a hitch.  The only reservation I have is in running CLIPPER applications
using expanded memory.  I don't recall whether I had a conflict there with
QEMM or rather with Desqview, but whatever it was, I now use the switch
CLIPPER=e:000 in the environment to defeat it.  The problem was probably
with DV anyway.

I'm very happy with QEMM, all in all.
