Message-ID: <90039.111635DN5@PSUVM.BITNET> Date: 8 Feb 90 16:16:35 GMT Organization: Penn State University Lines: 22 I am interested in getting a 386 pc of some kind. I am more interested in a good price then in tremendous speed. To me a 386 SX is almost as good as a DX. I also want a good hard-drive (at least 40 meg) and some kind of monitor and adaptor (mono is good enough for me, I've got a mac for graphics work). I want something that can run Windows 3.0, as well as OS/2 whenever that filters down to the masses. Any suggestions? Is Northgate any good? I have heard all the discussion about Gateway, and they sound nice, but I haven't researched anybody. Would getting the parts and building a system be a good way to go, and does anybody have recomendations for a good motherboard? I can hack hardware, but would rather not (unless it could save a good deal of $s). Thanks: I will summarize if people email me. D. Jay Newman dn5@psuvm.psu.edu
