It has an ESDI adapter and is running ACIS/4.3. The machine currently has a 310M disk in drive C. After I installed the second disk on drive D the diagnostics does not show the second at all. On the other hand when I boot the machine the following message appears on the console. Feb 7 18:55:39 eleni vmunix: hdc0: card level 0x4b microcode level 0x55 c onfiguration bits 0xc3 Feb 7 18:55:39 eleni vmunix: hdc0 adapter f00001f0 IRQ 12 CPU level 4 Feb 7 18:55:39 eleni vmunix: hd0 at hdc0 slave 0 Feb 7 18:55:39 eleni vmunix: hd0: hd310h; interleave factor is 1 to 1 Feb 7 18:55:39 eleni vmunix: hd1 at hdc0 slave 1 Feb 7 18:55:39 eleni vmunix: HD: adapter @ 0xf00001f0 TIMED OUT (0x51 & 0 x88 != 0x8) Feb 7 18:55:39 eleni vmunix: hd1: bad/missing configuration record Feb 7 18:55:39 eleni vmunix: HD: adapter @ 0xf00001f0 TIMED OUT (0x51 & 0 x88 != 0x8) I tried formating the disk but it refuses to do any type of formatting. The disk is brand new disk that I kludged from a PS2 model 80. What am I doing wrong ? I have checked all the manuals and could not find any clue as to what could have gone wrong. Has anybody ever faced such a trouble before ? It seems surprising that this drive is the same model as the first drive (company, type, etc...) I am willing to try any suggestions that some has to offer, short of saying forget-it !!!. Thanks in advance.
