Up until recently I didn't have enough memory to worry about caching my
hard disk.  I have read in MacUser many people picking on the cache in
the "General" CDEV.  Is it really that close to useless?  Are there any
good alternatives.  Obviously, a write through cache (asynch writes)
would be the way to go.  Wouldn't want to be caught in a crash with the
most recent save all in cache!  Saves should go to the disk - but maybe
it would be okay if it took an extra 1/2 second to get there (hence the
asynch), so I could get on with my life.

Any ideas?  Is this the new software product that will revolutionize the
Mac world?  A user configurable disk cache.
