Having done this, the folder should depart without protest. The reason that this sometimes works is because the file count (# files in the folder) can go negative (feature?), copying files in will bring it positive and back to something sensible. You could also use DiskExpress in its examine volume mode, this will tidy things up - just hope that you don't see any grim reapers ! John
