I've been working on some window code to create something like the "dialog-box"
menu/window on the macintosh. it's far from complete, but allows check-boxes
(the kind with a large X), radio-buttons (don't thing i have the button sized
right yet), read-only text-fields (possibly with an outlining box), and 
termination buttons. 

anyone who'd like a copy (let's call this an alpha (or pre-alpha) release) is
welcome to one--I'll mail it to you.
