If not, is there an accepted mechanism for users to modify their defaults by some kind of nice, user-friendly window in the application, rather than having to look up, parse, and understand the appropriate X resources ? It seems confusing to have geometry specifications in both the .Xdefaults and an .applrc file Other question. Has there been any work in the area of using an ICCCM selection to initiate a high-bandwidth transaction ? I'm thinking of a target atom named SOCKET_ID or something like that.
