Is there any way I can specify a large number of colors (say 100), draw with
them, and keep the display when my cursor leaves the window?  Ideally I would
like to be able to grab use every possible color available without clobbering
existing applications.  This sounds like it should be straightforward, but
it doesn't seem to be....
