When the computer is close to mating, the program will refuse to allow certain legal moves, especially those involving rook movement. i can't be much more specific because i'm still researching the problem, but it also seems to be followed by an erroneous mate, and seems to be cured by undoing after the erroneous mate or by saving, and then restoring, the game. -dk dpk28402%mkvax1@msus1
