I think what I will probably do is, when I know I am going to be out and around and walking or standing a lot, I will use my fiberglass rigid cane, and when I am going to be sitting and things like that, I will continue to use a folding cane. So, I will see if I can get a longer folding cane for those times! If NFB wants me to be independent they will have to accept my independence from them as well. Using a folding cane does not mean I am ashamed of being a blind person. Keepin' the faith! .
