As the sysadmin of the MX host for stargate.com, I can say that mail
to and from stargate is flowing smoothly.  Volume is light (~10
items/day) and moves without delay.  Last items headed there from
robecdc occurred on Jan 28 03:14 and Feb 2 22:13, to registry and
uucp-query, respectively.

Regardless, you might try redirecting such queries to
uunet!{registry,uucp-query}, since they have pretty much taken over
the domain registration functions of stargate.
