Hi Bob. I'm still voting YES. :-) However, I don't see the formal call come out in news.announce.newgroups. (Is it "technical" delay?) I know that a newsgroup can be denied creation if the call for it hadn't appeared in n.a.n. (Someone's been there before!) Also, you could crosspost the call in a broad range of soc.culture.* and politics groups, and sci.lang too. Somebody on news.groups stated it doesn't cost extra money to crosspost, and I believe hir! And people won't bite your head off if you crosspost _this_ kind of message. After all, you want to reach a wide audience of potentially interested voters. As once pointed out by Diane Bracken, the charter needn't restrict itself to discussions about "*things* (what be "*things*" anyway, something like, oh I don't know, Dampfeisenbahnbrueckenarbeitergewerk- schaftsfuehrersgroessenwahnsinnigkeit or what? :-]) related to Germany and Germans." I mean, of course, the inclusion of Switzerland, Austria and the several pockets of Deutschsprechende in the heart of Europe. Perhaps this expansion of interest will naturally happen anyway[s]. --dorai -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It may be that the gulfs will wash us down; It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
