Right now I have a great way to access news and 'net mail, via my account here at UF. Eventually, though, I'll be leaving the wonderful comforting environment of the university, and the place I end up at may not have net access. So, my question: What options, if any, do I have for maintaing net access? I'd like to keep a news feed, as full as possible, and be able to send and receive mail. Options I can think of: o Portal, or other "public access Unix" systems o get a feed from a nearby .com or .edu site o start my own .com site (Hmmm...bob.com !) Any other suggestions? Any book I should read? I'll eventually be upgrading my home system, almost certainly to a Unix box of some sort (Sun is high on the list). Cost is a consideration, but if higher cost will bring wider net access or faster access (eg, getting news six times a day vs. every two days), it would be worth it. Email or post suggestions, and thanks for any help you can provide. I'm not in any hurry to get a "private" feed, but I want to be ready for if and when I do need one. Thanks a bunch, y'all! Bob
