What makes you think we *want* to change our software? My own experience with message systems like Fido and Opus and TBBS that do smart wrapping is that it's more of a pain than it's worth. These days everyone's got 80 column terminals, even on 8-bitters, so perhaps it's time to quit catering to old hardware on *both* sides. And it's not just the newsreaders. There's all the text editors, and so on. No, the right way to fix this problem is in the gateway. Keep Usenet conventions on the UNIX side, and Fido conventions on the Fido side. -- _--_|\ Peter da Silva. +1 713 274 5180. . / \ \_.--._/ Xenix Support -- it's not just a job, it's an adventure! v "Have you hugged your wolf today?" `-_-'
