The original 6.3 had a bug in that if there was a newsgroup that had *never* received a posting it would show up as a _permanent_ 'unread'. There are lots of groups that get postings once every six months, or even less often, and so you can run nn for quite a while and _still_ have some of these kicking around. /bernie\
