[I didn't check myself, but at a previous church a pastor cited a Ph.D. thesis from the Cornell Dental School, which claimed that in fact use of a common cup is not a health hazard as long as (1) a silver cup is used (2) the wine is at least N% alcohol (I think 6%, but I'm not sure), and (3) a purificator (a cloth used to wipe the cup) is used between people. --clh]
