Quite commonly I have to spend many minutes repeatedly trying to anonymous ftp login. After a while, I usually get in or give up. I would like to have a utility which can perform this tedious task explained above and then allow the user to complete the ftp session similiar to the way a redial feature works on a telephone by getting past the busy signal and allowing one to complete the phone call. Does such a program exists (C, shellscript, etc.) which will keep tying Simtel20 for a short period of time (5-7 minutes) and then quit if it doesn't get in? Any help would be apreciated. Thanks in advance. - Jeff EMAIL: jharper@carina.unm.edu | # /bin/csh | if ( -e flame ) then "A stitch in time takes up space.." | fire_hose > flame The Doctor - "Delta and the Bannerman" | endif
