The *PEX Protocol Definition* (v4.0P) went out with X11R4, NOT the PEX source. (BTW for those of you following the development of the PEX protocol, it's destined for yet another crank turn -- hopefully the last for a while -- this summer, so watch the "x11-3d@expo.lcs.mit.edu" mailing alias for announcement of availability of the new spec. Oh, and *please* send all requests regarding that alias to "x11-3d-request@expo.lcs.mit.edu" thanks!) The PEX Sample Implementation (PEX-SI) effort which is chartered with producing the source of which you speak will make its release to MIT and shortly thereafter the public (via regular X11 tape distribution) in January 1991. Earlier releases are also being made to various sponsoring consortium groups in the meantime. Unfortunately, if you are not among the consortium groups who are slated to get the early releases, you will have to wait for the public release through MIT. - Marty Hess, PEX-SI Project Manager (415) 960-1300 Applied Graphics Technology -- PEX-SI Project, Mail Stop A1-43 Sun Microsystems, 2550 Garcia, Mountain View, CA 94043-1100 {ucbvax,ihnp4,decvax,decwrl}!sun!mhess | mhess@Sun.COM
