In any case, there are two options: 1. cnv/rletorast looks to me as if it will create 24 bit Sun raster files (which Sun, presumably, provides a display tool for). (I tested this, and 'file' says the result is a 'rasterfile, 512x480x24 standard format image'.) 2. If you're running X windows (which I assume you're not), getX11 will display in 24 bits. (We've got a much improved version of getX11 almost ready for distribution. We'll probably send it out separately, since "release 3" seems to be a ways off, yet.) So, while there is no direct display program for SunTools (or whatever they're calling it), it is possible to display 24 bit images. -- =Spencer (spencer@eecs.umich.edu)
