I find myself in the same predicament. When I boot Minix and use the check hard disk option from the main screen it complains about 'fsck can't handle partitons above 65535.' I opened my box up way back when and instead of using the IDE interface they insatlled a Western Digital WD1003-SR2 RLL controller. I requested the Minix compatibility sheet from NDSUVM1 where it mentioned the controller but not the computer. I also find myself in a dicey shape in that I can only use the 5 1/4" drive to attempt to get the kernel rebuilt with the right (?) controller; I am looking for ideas as to how to effect this change with minimum grief/abuse (but I get a feeling I'm dreaming on this one.) Comments/suggestions/brickbats are requested; and once this beast is functional I'll forward the data to the compatibility list master. Randy Holcomb (RandyH@cup.portal.com)
