I'm particularly interested to know not so much length limits, but limits to the number of segments and number of devices on those segments, and the _reasons_ for those limits. Over the last few days, I've read several conflicting versions, but none of these gave any specific reasons. I have a situation which requires thick ethernet cabling and several repeaters which is to support a Novell and TCP/IP network, running a mix of PC's and Sun workstations.
