PCs have no such security, so Sun developed a separate protocol (implemented in 'pcnfsd') to require the user to supply a userid/password before being granted access. Sun wrote the program, and supplies source to those who want to use or redistribute it. They also maintain a collection of versions ported to other operating systems. PC/TCP Plus (and Interdrive) are distributed with the Sun 'pcnfsd' in source form (I believe that Sun's own PC-NFS comes with the same source, and perhaps Sun 68020 and Sparc executables, and I don't know which way Beame & Whiteside chose to do it). You don't say what version of Ultrix you have, but the source we supply just built (no editing) on our Ultrix 2.0 and 3.0 systems. You do need to find the right libraries (it uses RPC), and you probably need to be root to add it to /etc/rc.local so it will be started on every boot. Installation directions are in the "InterDrive User's Guide", section 1.4 ("Installing and Configuring the PCNFSD Server"), and the fact that 'pcnfsd' is required is mentioned in the IDMNT manual page, and in the "Troubleshooting" section.
