The Line Eater is not supported any longer.] I understand and accept that Commodore is obsoleting the 1000. I don't LIKE it, but that's life. BUT, (and this is a big but), this doesn't mean that owners of the A1000 are completely out in the cold. We have ONE CHANCE to keep living the good life of the Amiga. (Thunder and lightning) THIRD PARTY DEVELOPERS and USERS. Right us. If any of you write software and do not NEED to use more than is supported by the A1000, please TRY your software on an A1000. Your customer base could be at least a little larger. Don't get me wrong. If a new 1.4 feature is needed by your software, I wouldn't stand in the way of progress. I'm just saying that with a little clean programming and foresight, your program could probably work on an A1000 also. I will probably get flamed for being short sighted. So be it. Someday, I will get a 2000 (or 3000 (or 4000)...) and I will still keep my old 1000. I LIKE its' look and feel. I LIKE its kickstart on disk. (VERY VERSATILE. This allowed the amiga to be compatible with old software by simply switching kickstarts). I LIKE the feeling that the developers were PROUD enough to put their names in it!!! (Even their dog!) I always wanted a computer made by creative people given relatively free rein. Don White Box 271177 Concord, CA. 94527-1177 zehntel!donw __ [ ] || || Bottom line - [__] won't forget the A1000. (See, it IS the bottom line!)
