It's been suggested (by me) that we buy Amigas for this, since a good color X terminal starts at around $3000 (and can only do X!). (I'm in the process of acquiring a 2000 for myself, but I still have lots of questions..) Questions (probably should've emailed 'em straight to boing!dale, right? :-): 0. Which Amiga? I assume 2000, if not 2500HD 1. Is there SLIP-based X for the Amiga? How fast will it go? Any problems with v.32 modems? 2. Ethernet-based X: How fast, and will it talk TCP/IP to Sun/Apollo/ultrix X servers? 3. X11R4? 4. Is there really a CBM discount for Amigas? How much? Who do I call (this week :-) at CBM to get the real dope? thx.. -- J. Eric Townsend University of Houston Dept. of Mathematics (713) 749-2120 jet@karazm.math.uh.edu Skate UNIX(tm).
