Unfortunately it seems easier to write software by the seat of the pants and then blame Apple when the software isn't compatible with the latest ROM's, etc. I remember the //c getting a lot of flack because some models would run one package of Newsroom and not another. The problem seemed to lie in the quarter tracking copy-protection scheme which some //c drives could do and some couldn't.
