I too have experienced a similar problem, mine began with a blown fuse on the internal circuit board. I had to install a slightly larger fuse to make the printer work at all, and have since had this overrun problem. I have been using the printer successfully with the Baud rate lowered from 4800 to 1200. The intent being to make the serial output slow enough that the printer can keep up. As to the proper fix, I believe that the Printer Ready/Busy signal is not functioning (its output being shorted might explain the need for the larger fuse.) The fix in this case would be to replace the bad interface chip. --- * Origin: VAXCat, Merrimack, NH; Home of the Black VAXCat; (603)424-0923 (Opus 1:132/777) ------------------------------ Date: 02-17-90 (13:15) To: DAVID HARDY Subject: RAINBOW 100A FOR SALE From: DON MARQUART > 4.1, SAMNA II/III, DBASE III, Lotus 1-2-3, TK!Solver, M-BASIC- > 86, Pascal MT+, PolyCOM, and RM/COBOL. I didn't check the back for numbers, though. The stand it was on looked very much like it was part of the printer. The ribbon was on two spools near the back of the machine rather than in a cartridge. Inside on the right was a large motor for positioning the print head. The seller is moving tomorrow and says he doesn't have any use for it and will sell for $50. I appreciate any information you may have. --- * Origin: Glacier Peak Rainbow, Bellevue, WA - 206/644-8431 (Opus 1:343/3) ------------------------------ Date: 02-17-90 (16:24) To: GEORGE THEALL Subject: RE: RDISK From: AMER NELSON I'm NOT REALLY sure that RDISK was the culprit.
