The SCSI port in SE/30 is faster than the SE's. Also, most accelerator boards don't come with a math chip. (at least when I was looking) Have you looked at the cost of selling your SE and buying a new SE/30. Apple just dropped their education prices on the SE/30 (and SE too). When I did it 6 months ago I was able to sell mine and buy a new machine for about $1600. Obviously that depends alot on what you can get for your SE.
