Lines: 17 Buzzwords galore. Live telecast from San Francisco. Loud synthesized theme music. Lots of talk about POWER and QUALITY. Too much "where this fits into the IBM product line." In short: sort of inexpensive (starting at $12,995 for a client) and really fast (starting at 27 MIPS, 7.4 MFLOPS). The high end is almost $100,000, with 41 MIPS, 13 MFLOPS. And they'll be offering that "exciting new technology from Steve Jobs' team." But no DSP, no D/A, no optical disk, and no philosophy. Volume shipments in second quarter. And they do mean VOLUME.
