Damned, dropped my change, it's all over the floor.... comp.windows.ms.binaries is STILL a good idea, especially for people without ftp access. Yes, the AMOUNT of binaries available to the public domain is small. (There's a PC-based BBS that carries about 350 PD Windows programs - Call HH Info Net @ 1-203-738-0306 to register. They have fonts and demos and programs.) However, this kind of group might be useful to disseminate other net-users's programs. If they could be sent through some sort of moderator who could check them out, it would quite a boon to Windows owners. The more support, the better. By the way, I looked at the ibm pc binaries group. Pretty much at the 'null line' for recent submissions. Its moderator had to abdicate his position, and there hasn't been a real posting in months.
