Calm down, guys!! Comp.unix.wizards got split up a long time ago into comp.unix.wizards and comp.unix.questions; there are questions that aren't wizard-level questions; usually you know whether it is or not. No question is too dumb to ask in comp.unix.questions, though you should expect an occasional RTFM or "consult your local admin" answer. Hopefully they'll tell you which manual to look in. Unfortunately, sometimes you ARE the local admin, and you HAVE read all the manuals you can find. I'm more of a guru than a wizard in this business, since I don't do real development on a frequent basis, and there are some aspects of this game where I'm still a novice, if a vocal one. Sometimes I have questions that seem hard enough to ask about in .wizards, but sometimes I'll ask in .questions, and sometimes even in this newsgroup if I know I ought to know the answer but just can't figure it out. -- # Bill Stewart AT&T Bell Labs 4M312 Holmdel NJ 201-949-0705 erebus.att.com!wcs # ho95c has gone the way of all VAX/785s, so I'm now on erebus.att.com "Careful with that VAX, Eugene!"
