There was a group called PLANT-MOLECULAR-BIOLOGY on BIOSCI sometime
ago.  Unfortunately it died because of lack of use.  I have yet to be
convinced that specialty groups like this will be used.  So far the
most popular groups are more general such as BIONEWS, BIO-SOFTWARE,
EMPLOYMENT, METHODS-AND-REAGENTS, and BIO-JOURNALS.  The
HUMAN-GENOME-PROGRAM newsgroup is one of the exceptions to the above
statement, but this is undoubtedly because the NIH itself is actively
particpating in that group.
